PEBA Conference: Capturing Expert Insights on Planning and Environment
Who are PEBA?
The Planning and Environment Bar Association (PEBA) is a distinguished group of barristers specializing in planning, environment, compulsory purchase, highways, housing, and rating law.
Held at the prestigious Clyde & Co offices in the heart of the city, C60Media expertly filmed the PEBA annual conference. The event featured a keynote address from The Rt. Hon Sir Keith Lindblom, who shared valuable insights on the evolution and future of planning law. Attendees received comprehensive updates on critical topics such as climate change, its effects on development, the role of social media in planning, and nutrient neutrality.
PEBA Chairman Paul Tucker KC kicked off the conference with an engaging overview of the day’s agenda. His introduction set the stage for an informative and exciting day, providing delegates with the latest industry developments. The conference included presentations from a range of experts from various chambers, including Cornerstone Barristers, Landmark Chambers, and Clyde & Co, among others. Highlights from the talks covered…
Insight into PEBA’s talks

- Update from the Planning Court
- Written or Spoken – the art and science of giving evidence
- In Memory of William Rose – Planning Injunctions
- Nutrient Neutrality and Biodiversity Net Gain
- Case Law Update
How was it handled?
C60Media filmed the event for PEBA in 4K on a Sony FX6. Behind the camera was Alex Lesseps and on sound was Neil Kanwal. All produced and directed by me, Peter Shevlin. I have to say that one drawback from the venue was the PA system at the venue, next year we will have to bring our own PA for a higher quality sound for the delegates!
Aiming for one long video file of the entire day, for those who couldn’t be there, you will be able to view the presentations from Estelle Dehon KC, Ruchi Parekh, Melissa Murphy KC and many more.
Clyde & Co have the most amazing space and every so often I would grab a coffee and go for a little tour around the thirteenth floor, taking in views of The Gherkin, Tower Bridge and The Shard.
See the full days schedule here, and be sure to look out on PEBA’s website for any future upcoming events, and if not be sure to be on the look out for an edited video form of the day going online soon!
