Corporate Video with Graduate Coach
I had the lucky opportunity of recording another batch of short videos for Graduate Coach this Wednesday the 18th of October. The videos ranged in content from video explanations for their website, to social media promotions for Facebook, and even an endorsement for EnergyHelp. The shoot began at 9am sharp, and as it was just me recording, I had a much smaller set up, only using a tripod for my Iphone, a mic that connected into the Lightning port and an LED light.
That’s right, everything was recorded on just an I-phone and edited in Adobe Premiere! Amazing what quality phones are able to capture on the go nowadays!
The client, Chris Davies, wanted to shoot against the window with a view over the London Victoria. However, this led to a bit of trouble with the lighting, as we were unable to control the room light. Having natural light coming in from behind risks overexposing the shot, or even under-developing it with too many shadows, and this definitely became a problem with how the natural light changed and moved throughout the two and a half hour recording session. This issue also meant trouble with the LED light as no matter how much I moved and played with it, the shot felt like it was not changing or improving. Despite panic levels rising, everything surprisingly worked out after recording some test videos and the image was completely perfect aside from a small reflection from the LED light that I would have to edit out in post.
In the two and a half hours we recorded, we shot 10 videos total with only a few retakes needed, Chris is a one-take-wonder, straight up with confidence and rarely stumbles on his words, an ability I wish I had. Keep an eye out on Graduate Coach’s Twitter, Facebook, and Website, they’ve got a lot of big things coming! And there’s no better place if you need help turning a graduate degree into a career!
